KiwiRail wanted to acknowledge rail’s tremendous contribution in shaping our young country and to also showcase the evolution of rail over 150 years. We decided that our display would consist of four shipping containers each themed with a distinct key message: Moving through the times – history of rail; Moving the Economy – capability of a modern rail business today; Move Safely and Responsibly – rail safety and our community; Moving Experiences – our world-class passenger experiences.

Our display had to be professional, modern, engaging and interactive. We wanted visitors young and old to have a great experience while learning about rail in New Zealand. KiwiRail worked with Neogine on the design and Peek Exhibition on the build. Peek Exhibition provided excellent customer service and on many occasions worked long hours due to very tight timeframes. The team went beyond what was expected and the easy communication made for a successful and friendly relationship.

KiwiRail received four professional, modern, engaging and interactive containers on time. Information panels, floor and ceilings lined each container that were fitted with lighting and power for TVs or video screens. Awnings were attached to ensure visitors were protected from the rain and sun and rails were installed to keep everyone safely within the container.

During the 12 public open days we had over 20,000 visitors see our display and all were thoroughly impressed. In fact, the workmanship was so impressive that we have received requests from external groups to display at other events. We were pleased to hear that the KiwiRail 150th Anniversary Container project earned Peek Exhibition a GOLD medal in the Exhibition Stand Category, as judged by the NZSDA.

It’s always going to be a challenge to develop a high impact and functional stand which has to meet the needs of a dozen different organisations and that can be used a different events, but once again Peek has delivered. PWT really appreciates the detail paid to delivering to PWT’s brief and brand; the concepts presented by Peek were well ahead of the other pitches we received. We particularly appreciate the smart approach you took, presenting flexible components and anticipating any issues or problems for us to consider ahead of committing to the build.
